The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, home to over 2,500 bison, was also the childhood home of cowboy actor Ben Johnson, who hosted John Wayne here. You can tour the bunkhouse and learn about the preserve, the largest remaining tallgrass prairie, which once spanned 14 states but now covers less than 10% of its original area.
