In late March, guests will start to notice several camps starting to “pop up” by the Mountain Man Camp below Crystal Lake. In the spirit of Oklahoma “Sooners”, these are the early arrivals for the famous Spring Traders Encampment which will officially be held on April 12th and 13th. By the time the weekend arrives, you will be seeing over 100 camps filled with reenactors living the history of the early 1800’s. Open to the public, you can walk through their camps and see what life was really like back in those days….watch them shoot the black powder rifle, see them compete in the tomahawk throw and with the bow and arrow and see some of the items that some of them have to sell. The Trader's Encampment is open to the public and guests are encouraged to park and walk through the camp. There is no additional admission required; regular admission at the gate includes the Spring Trader's Camp. This camp is not only unique; it also serves as a wonderful educational tool for children to visit and experience the lifestyle of earlier times.
